In 2019, the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe acquired the Salish Lodge, the iconic hotel adjacent to sacred Snoqualmie Falls. In hopes to continue their community development, the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe is pursued the renovation of a previous clinic and administrative spaces to include a childcare facility.

The 7,790 SF Child Development Center was designed by studioMLA Architects in such a way to support and showcase a “cultural overlay” that was important to the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe. studioMLA Architects provided the infrastructure and the framework that allowed them to represent their culture in ways that were meaningful for them through art, signage, and other elements.
