Kylie Durekas is a Landscape Architectural Associate at studioMLA Architects. She is passionate about designing spaces that inspire creativity and connection to the natural environment. She is interested in a variety of projects that include ecological restoration, therapeutic landscape design, universal design, and environmental education. Her 3D visualization skills and planting knowledge have been instrumental in her communication with clients and her design of sensory landscapes.
While Kylie was studying at California Polytechnic State University, in her senior thesis, she focused on the connection between therapeutic landscape design and mental health. This has influenced her love for designing easily accessible spaces for reflection, socialization, and interaction with the natural environment.
Outside of work, Kylie enjoys camping, hiking, surfing, and volunteering.
