Weill Cornell Medical College Inaugurates New Child Care Center

Weill Cornell Medical College celebrated the grand opening of their new childcare center designed by studioMLA Architects with a ribbon-cutting reception last night on-site in New York City. Speakers including Dr. Laurie Glimcher, Dean of the Medical College and Cornell University Provost for Medical Affairs, and Dave Lissy, CEO of Bright Horizons Family Solutions, spoke about the essential role that childcare plays in the College’s efforts to support employees and the importance of a quality environment for those families.

Everyone marveled at the transformation of a dilapidated parking garage into a state-of-the-art childcare center. The center provides warm and inviting classrooms, uses sustainable building and design strategies, and features an indoor activity center including a climbing wall. The architectural approach is carefully coordinated with the childcare curriculum to support teachers, children and families.
