Mike Lindstrom Presents at North Carolina State University’s NLI Design Institute

The Natural Learning Initiative hosted its 14th Annual Design Institute in North Carolina at which Mike Lindstrom gave a presentation on “how architecture can support children and nature.” He showed successful examples from studioMLA projects for the Nurtury Learning Lab, Penn State University, and local projects for Bright Horizons Apex NC and SAS Institute Cary NC. His presentation was enthusiastically received and generated a lively Q&A discussion afterward.

The conference was a great forum for discussion and exchange of ideas – other participants included Robin Moore and Nilda Cosco (Natural Learning Initiative), Jennifer Zuckerman (Blue Cross & Blue Shield NC Foundation), Cam Collyer (Evergreen), David Kahn (North American Montessori Teachers Association), Glenn Murphy (NC Systema), Lais Fluery (Alana Foundation), Anita Nelson Niehues (College of Health Sciences), Kevin Cherry (NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources), and Jim Phillips (Museum of Life & Sciences).
