Location: Keene, NH
Size: 12,000sf Completion: 2011 Target The design process for creating an Outdoor Environment for Keene State College’s Child Development Center began with an interactive Workshop led by Studio MLA Architects with Robin Moore of North Carolina State University’s Natural Learning Initiative. The workshop included participation of Center staff, parents, university facilities’ department as well as university architecture students. The design of the new Outdoor Environment will provide learning and play opportunities by introducing natural landforms and materials: hills, climbing rocks, willow tunnels, and sensory plant materials. The proposed design for the Outdoor Environment will also provide a setting for the Center’s ‘Early Sprouts Gardening Project’. |
