Mike and Karen present at NCCCC conference in San Diego
For the second year in a row, Mike Lindstrom and Karen Shirley from studio MLA Architects were invited to present a workshop at the annual conference of the National Coalition for Campus Children’s Centers in San Diego on April 7th 2011. The topic was modest renovations for child development centers indoors and out. In a year of uncertain funding for many schools this is a topic that is particularly important to the attendees from universities and colleges across from across the US and visitors from as far away as Australia. The presentation was received with enthusiasm and Mike and Karen were also able to attend other valuable sessions and hear the perspective of early education professionals.

This project, which was designed by studio MLA Architects, opened in 2007 and has become one of the most influential examples of a community based outreach for childcare environments quality enhancement.
